Browns Breakout Star Damon Sheehy-Guiseppi's Story is Even More Amazing Than You Thought
By Parker White

Preseason football doesn't move the needle too much, but Cleveland Browns returner Damon Sheehy-Guiseppi's story is so improbable that you simply can't overlook it.
We know that Sheehy-Guiseppi slept outside outside a gym for 24 hours, pretending to know Browns VP of player personnel Alonzo Highsmith, and effectively smooth-talked his way into getting a workout with the team.
His story is even better than you thought. When it comes to last night's punt return for a touchdown, he wasn't even wearing his own cleats.
Another cool twist on this story: Sheehy-Guiseppi told me he wore Odell Beckham’s cleats tonight. Says he had misplaced the ones he wanted to wear. Beckham, who has taken a liking to the kid, said, “Here, I broke these in for you.” pic.twitter.com/o41GIhGhBm

Sheehy-Guiseppi wore Odell Beckham Jr.'s cleats, as he misplaced his own that he was going to wear. Without the right cleats heading into his preseason debut, his new teammate came to his aid.
Clearly Sheehy-Guiseppi is fitting right in at Browns camp, and his continued heroics on the field, paired with his determination off it, makes him one of the most intriguing players in the NFL preseason.
You’ve heard a lot about Damon Sheehy-Giuseppe, who returned an 86-yard punt last night. Fibbed his way into the Browns tryout, slept outside gym. How about this one? Played his ball at Phoenix College in front of hundreds on fields with soccer goals on it. pic.twitter.com/P80kV6yEW7

Sheehy-Guiseppe attended Phoenix College, a much smaller university than most who produce NFL talent. It's so small that he played in front of hundreds, not thousands, of people and there were soccer goals on the field. Yes, just like a high school, Phoenix College had their football and soccer teams play on the same surface.
He's overcome various obstacles and shown the drive and willpower it takes to succeed at football's highest level. Let's hope he can stick around in Cleveland come the regular season!
