The Cleveland Browns have let down virtually every NFL fan through the first nine weeks of the 2019 season who bought into their hype, and barring a miraculous turnaround in their final eight games, they will miss out on the playoffs (again).

However, it's apparently not all doom and gloom in the franchise's front office, as the play of breakout center JC Tretter has brought about a new and improved contract extension worth $32.5 million over three years, per insider Ian Rapoport.

The deal reportedly includes over $23 million in guaranteed money.

This extension is nothing less than Tretter deserves, as his consistently impactful play has been lost in the sheer dumpster fire that is the rest of Cleveland's offensive line. Given that current state of their front group, the Browns simply couldn't afford to let their most valuable asset test the free agent waters at season's end.

Tretter was in the final year of a three-year deal that he signed with the organization back in 2017.

The 28-year-old was a former fourth round pick of the Green Bay Packers in 2013 out of Cornell. He has proven to be an iron man since joining Cleveland, as he's started every game at center in each of his 40 games with the franchise.

The Cornell product hasn't even missed a snap through the first nine weeks of the season.

We haven't said this much in 2019, but well done, Cleveland.
