Broncos LB Todd Davis Reportedly Expected to Miss 3-to-4 Weeks With Partial Calf Tear

The Denver Broncos reported to training camp on Thursday, checking in as the first club to take part in the ever-important practice sessions.
While this was unquestionably good news for the franchise and fans, one particular player had his day cut short for all of the wrong reasons.
Linebacker Todd Davis has reportedly suffered a partially torn calf, but is only expected to miss 3-to-4 weeks, per Nicki Jhabvala of The Athletic. This should put the 27-year-old on track to return ahead of Denver's regular season's inception on Sept. 9.

Though untimely, this news following this intense of an injury should be considered a major victory for Davis and the Broncos organization. How often are partially torn calf muscles considered to sport just a month's worth of recovery time?
The Sacramento State product is coming off his best season in the league. Across 16 games (all starts), he compiled 114 tackles, six tackles for losses, five quarterback hits, seven pass deflections, and an interception for a touchdown.

If those stats say anything, it's that Davis is an integral part of Denver's linebacking corps. First-year head coach Vic Fangio and defensive coordinator Joe Woods will be hoping the five-year man suffers no setbacks while rehabbing the ailment.
