The Denver Broncos may have whiffed when they hired Vance Joseph as their head coach and canned him after just two seasons, and they could be headed down that same path with Vic Fangio.

The 61-year-old became a first-time head coach after leading that ferocious Chicago Bears defense that carried Mitch Trubisky to the playoffs. Fangio could be on his way out soon, as his gruff demeanor is causing some internal strife, according to CBS Sports' Jason La Canfora.

Some around the organization believe that Fangio lacks proper "people skills." He constantly clashes with assistants over play calls, and was described as "overbearing" on the headset.

His attitude has reportedly created a negative atmosphere around the 3-6 Broncos, and that environment was partially to blame for the alienation and subsequent departure of Emmanuel Sanders, who was described as "essentially walking out on the team."

Fangio is in danger of becoming the next in a long list of coaches that were excellent coordinators, but couldn't cut it as a head coach. He'll also be another example of why hiring the hot coordinator isn't always the best practice when picking a head coach.
