Stop whatever it is that you are doing, folks, because we have an MLB trade to convey on this Wednesday morning!

A multitude of reports have confirmed that the Milwaukee Brewers have traded outfielder Trent Grisham and right-hander Zach Davies to the San Diego Padres in exchange for left-hander Eric Lauer, and star infield prospect Luis Urias.

We certainly didn't see this one coming, but it's a transaction that makes sense for both parties, as the Padres need young outfield depth and the Brewers could use help on the infield.

Grisham is the most significant of the trade pieces leaving Milwaukee, and he'll depart as somewhat of a villain for his egregious blunder in the outfield during the eighth inning of the NL Wild Card Game, a tilt the Brewers were leading 3-1 at the time, and ending up losing 4-3.

Davies is a decent get for a Padres pitching staff that ranked 18th in the league with a pedestrian 4.60 ERA. He logged a 10-7 record alongside a 3.55 ERA across 159.2 innings for the Brewers in 2019.

Urias, on the other hand, is the prized piece of the return package for Milwaukee. He was the former No.3 prospect in a LOADED San Diego farm system. The 22-year-old struggled with the bat in 2019, but the talent and potential is undoubtedly there, and he figures to pay a key role for a Brewers team that could lose Mike Moustakas in 2020.

Nothing like a late November trade to prepare us for what is sure to be a scintillating offseason!
