Milwaukee Brewers games in the early stages of the 2020 MLB season might look and sound just a little bit different. Longtime analyst Bill Schroeder will take some time off from working Brewers games following heart surgery this offseason.

To avoid overworking his ticker, Schroeder will not attend a large chunk of spring training, and he will not work several road trips early in the season.

Former Brewers Jeff Cirillo, Geoff Jenkins, and Jerry Augustine are expected to fill in as analysts for Schroeder while his condition improves.

Schroeder, who played six of his eight seasons as a backup catcher with Milwaukee, has been a constant presence up in the booth for 25 seasons and has become arguably the most recognizable non-Bob Uecker voice in all of Brewers media.

For those outside of Milwaukee who are unaware, Schroeder is one of the sharpest baseball minds in the booth. Take as much time as you need, Bill. Your health always comes first.
