Well, there you have it. Antonio Brown will never play a single game for the Oakland Raiders. Period.

In a perfectly bizarre capper to what has been an incredibly ridiculous, inane, bizarre melodrama, the Raiders announced Saturday morning that AB has been released from the team, two days before their 2019 NFL season opener against the Broncos.

This comes on the heels of Brown's Instagram post hours earlier in which he requested his dismissal from the team in light of their imminent attempt to cancel the $29 million in guaranteed money he was to be owed. The All-Pro wideout said he had no interest in playing with zero guaranteed cash on the table.

And now, what's done is done.

Or is it?

We've certainly not heard the last of the absurd, demoralizing back-and-forth between No. 84 and the Raiders organization. But for now, one thing is painfully clear: his career in the Bay Area is over before it ever had a chance to start.
