BREAKING: No. 1 All Purpose Running Back Chris Tyree Chooses Notre Dame Over Alabama and Oklahoma

Even after losing Dexter Williams to the NFL, Brian Kelly's backfield is set to be as dangerous as ever with Jafar Armstrong and the addition of Chris Tyree.

The 4-star running back from Thomas Dale High School in Chester, Virginia has committed to Notre Dame.

Oklahoma and Alabama were also interested in Tyree's services, but he ultimately opted for South Bend.

Tyree's small frame (he stands just 5-9 and weights just 178 pounds) will be a big question mark, but he more than makes up for it with sub 4.4 speed and some deadly quickness in the open field. A former track star, he is an electric runner who can make something out of nothing regularly.

Tyree has the makings of a versatile all-purpose back who can make noise as a returner, receiver and running back. His speed is game-changing and will play right away.

Brian Kelly loves versatility and the ability to make plays after the catch, and Tyree checks both of those boxes. He'll be a seamless fit into his offense at Notre Dame.
