The bad news just continues to pour in for the New York Mets. Unfortunately this time, Noah Syndergaard is involved.

Though fans were happy with Saturday's 8-7 win over the Cardinals, hearts sank when 'Thor' was seen walking gingerly off the field in the middle of his start. Now, we know he'll be headed to the injured list.

Fortunately, it'll only be a 10-day IL stint for Syndergaard and he's avoided a serious injury. Still, it's never good when your stud hurler is battling hamstring problems in June.

For Syndergaard, 2019 hasn't gone the way he was hoping for thus far. In 15 starts, the 6-6, 240-pounder is 5-4, with a 4.55 ERA for the 34-36 Mets.

Entering Sunday's series finale with the Cardinals, New York is 6.5 games back of the Braves in the NL East standings. If they want to make any kind of a run at the division title, they'll need to be fully healthy later this summer.

It goes without saying, but this undoubtedly includes Syndergaard being as close to 100 percent as possible.
