Leave it to Lincoln Riley and the Oklahoma Sooners to head into enemy territory and pick up their best asset. Somehow, someway, OU has morphed into QBU, consistently replacing Heisman-level talent with, well, another Heisman hopeful.

From Baker Mayfield to Kyler Murray to Jalen Hurts to (likely) Spencer Rattler, Oklahoma is set long-term behind center. It should come as no surprise, then, that they've landed 2021 5-star signal-caller Brock Vandagriff out of Georgia, solidifying the QB position for the long-term in Norman.

From a prospect's perspective, there's much to like about Riley's pedigree. Both Mayfield and Murray went No. 1 in the NFL Draft, and with the right tutelage, Vandagriff could be the same caliber QB. With Hurts graduating after this season and Rattler currently being an unknown commodity, Vandagriff will have every opportunity to compete right away in 2021. At worst, he'll be the presumed starter once Rattler leaves for the NFL or graduation.

Vandagriff had trimmed his list down to Auburn, Georgia, Clemson, Florida, Tennessee and Oklahoma as of June 6. While his commitment to Oklahoma takes him off the market for now, signing day for the 2021 class is still a long ways away. Expect Riley to check in frequently with his future gunslinger.
