While the New York Knicks may have missed out on Zion Williamson and Ja Morant -- to say nothing of Anthony Davis -- Duke Blue Devils wing RJ Barrett isn't exactly the worst consolation prize in the world. A smooth scorer that can put up 20 points per game with his eyes closed, Barrett was selected with the No. 3 pick in the 2019 NBA Draft.

Barrett, ranked by several recruiting services as the No. 1 overall player out of high school ahead of future Duke teammate and Pelicans superstar Zion Williamson, will be counted on to bring the buckets at MSG.

A 45% shooter who averaged 22.6 points per game, Barrett can fill it up from anywhere on the court. While he's never going to be an elite defensive player and needs to improve his free-throw shooting, his ability to create his own shot is highly valuable.

It remains to be seen if the Knicks will bring in any additional big names this offseason, but the selection of Barrett at least guarantees that they'll have taken care of business on draft night.
