The Crimson Tide added to their elite recruiting class this morning, as top 100 prospect Demouy Kennedy announced his commitment to play at Alabama.

Kennedy, a linebacker from in-state Theodore, was once committed to the rival Auburn Tigers before backing out of his pledge. Kennedy picked Alabama over Florida State, LSU, and other big time college football programs he was being courted by.

Nick Saban should be ecstatic to add a linebacker of Kennedy's caliber to his front seven. Kennedy has been called a "physical specimen" and has been praised for his raw athleticism and potential.

Kennedy will likely play the outside linebacker position, where he excels at shedding blockers and getting after the quarterback. The 4-star prospect has been criticized, however, for his technique and fundamentals at the position, at times simply relying on his athleticism.

With the high caliber coaching staff the Crimson Tide have available, there may be no team in the FBS better equipped to tap into the incredible potential that Kennedy possesses.
