Braves Activate Nick Markakis From Injured List Just in Time for Playoff Push
By Parker White

On Friday, the Atlanta Braves made a host of roster moves, including the reinstatement of veteran outfielder Nick Markakis from the injured list.
On top of getting one of their leaders back before October, Atlanta placed infielder Johan Camargo on the IL with a right shin fracture. The Braves also recalled right-handed pitchers Touki Toussaint, Bryse Wilson and Kyle Wright from Triple-A Gwinnett.

Markakis has been out since late July with a fractured left wrist. The 35-year-old went through live batting practice on Wednesday with no issue, so now he's back in the fold and will likely play on an everyday basis.
In 104 games this season, Markakis is slashing .284/.358/.429 with 9 home runs and 55 RBI.
Even though Markakis is a right fielder by trade, the expectation is that he'll see the bulk of his time in left field with Matt Joyce getting the everyday role in right.

Sadly, Camargo, who had been swinging a hot bat before going down, will likely miss the remainder of the regular season and won't be healthy enough for playoff baseball.
Bringing Toussaint, Wilson and Wright up gives Atlanta more pitching options down the stretch, with all three being able to go multiple innings or even give manager Brian Snitker a spot start.
