The Atlanta Braves are still looking to stabilize what has been a shaky bullpen unit this year, and they've gone and made a move to add an additional arm.

The Braves acquired southpaw Caleb Thielbar from the Detroit Tigers in exchange for cash considerations on Friday.

Thielbar's been in the Tigers' farm system since 2018. This year at Triple-A, the 32-year-old has recorded a 3.30 ERA with 92 strikeouts across 76.1 innings of work.

He last pitched in the majors in 2015 for the Minnesota Twins, though he only logged six appearances. His last meaningful season of big-league work came in 2014, where he recorded a 3.40 ERA with 35 whiffs in 47.2 innings.

If he can impress the Braves, perhaps he can earn a major league call-up and return to the bigs for the first time in four seasons. He's been impressive in the minors this year, so it's not unrealistic that he could join the Braves ahead of October.
