Hot take season is properly upon us, and basically by default. After all, there aren't any live sporting events to clamor over (unless you're an aficionado of Australian A-League soccer, which you're more than welcome to be). But sometimes, folks, keeping it real goes wrong. Witness Brady Poppinga, retired NFL linebacker turned media pundit, popping(a) off about a certain reigning MVP in a manner that should probably be illegal.

To hear him tell it, Lamar Jackson is just a poor man's... Taysom Hill?!?

Sheesh, that's a five-alarm fire of a take. That's the world's spiciest enchirito. And what's worse? It accomplishes almost nothing other than enrage legions of football fans.

Jackson is a revelation. He shucked off the doubters to seize the Ravens' starting quarterback role, chasing Super Bowl champ Joe Flacco out of town on the way to lifting the 2019 NFL MVP trophy. He's still incredibly young. But don't let cold, hard facts get in the way of an unconscionably fuego take, folks.

Nah, Poppinga, who won a Super Bowl with the Packers over the course of an eight-year career as a pro, is ready to crown Hill, a 29-year-old Saint who has started nine whole games in his career.

Folks, would you believe that Poppinga and Hill are both graduates of Brigham Young University? I'm sure that's got nothing, zilch, zero to do with his 100% unbiased riff of analysis here.

None. None at all.
