Philadelphia 76ers star Ben Simmons is an icon in Australia. The Melbourne native is beloved by many for his achievements in the NBA, and he has plenty of fans there that are excited to see where his career goes.

But not everybody seems to be on the same page. Simmons said he was denied entry to the Crown Casino in Australia, and in his recounting of the event, he insinuated that racial profiling was to blame.

In a video which takes place seemingly after the dispute, Simmons films a caucasian male who says that he didn't get checked by security before panning to the rest of his group, all of whom look to be people of color.

"They didn’t let me in, or him or this guy. Wow, we got a long way to go," Simmons said.

It also seems as though all but one of the security guards in question are white, something that will only add fuel to the fire surrounding the entire situation.

It's a shame that people are still being profiled in this day and age. It's downright disgraceful that Simmons and his friends were apparently singled out based solely on the color of their skin.
