Allen Robinson and Anthony Miller are a fine pair of receivers, but the Chicago Bears needed more speed than 2020 fifth-round pick Darnell Mooney could provide, and they did just that by signing former New Orleans Saints receiver Ted Ginn Jr.

The former Ohio State star and top-10 pick signed a one-year deal with the Bears, where he is expected to be third or fourth on the depth chart.

Ginn, was solid in Miami with the Dolphins as a receiver for three seasons, but bounced around the league with the 49ers, Panthers and Cardinals as a kick returner in the prime of his career. Ginn re-established himself as a receiver in a return trip to Carolina in 2015, as he caught 10 touchdowns on a Panthers team that made it to the Super Bowl.

Ginn hauled in 30 passes for 421 yards and two touchdowns last season with the Saints, serving as the No. 2 wideout behind Michael Thomas.

Provided either Mitchell Trubisky or Nick Foles actually grace Ginn with catchable footballs at some point during the season, Ginn could show that he hasn't lost any of the playmaking ability or speed he's showcased over his long pro career.
