Germain Ifedi's Contract Details With Bears Have Been Revealed and Seahawks Are Going to Regret Not Re-Signing Him

We've talked about this all offseason long. Russell Wilson needs protection and continuity along the offensive line -- not a revolving door of shaky veterans and players on prove-it deals.

Well, the Seattle Seahawks front office is once again playing with fire, bringing in new faces with limited resumes to fill roles on the offensive line instead of making one or two big moves to truly improve the unit. While Hawks fans have had mixed feelings about former first-round pick Germain Ifedi, the Seahawks not bringing him back -- ESPECIALLY at the price the Bears got him at -- will prove to be a colossal mistake.

For a team like Seattle struggling a bit with cap space, how was this not considered? Even giving him double that salary would've gone a long way. Such a move would've returned a familiar face who was improving (albeit slowly) and maintained continuity along an offensive line that has been working to find its way.

This is simply bad business on the Seahawks' end.

It makes us think the team didn't even bother to discuss a contract with him once he hit free agency. It seems like it was "adios" from the moment the season ended, which is not fair for a guy who dealt with constant criticism because of where he was selected in the draft despite progressing over the course of his four seasons in Seattle.

Hawks fans better hope the new acquisitions of BJ Finney, Cedric Ogbuehi and Chance Warmack pan out or else this is going to look REALLY bad.
