Buckle in, folks, because this particular piece of news is as outlandish and bizarre as it gets.

The hosts of "The Sports Junkies," a Washington-based sports talk radio show on 106.7 The Fan, were left dumbfounded (and extremely concerned) when a particular caller -- identified as Bobby from Fairfax County, Virginia -- claimed to be phoning in from his hospital bed.

We know what you're thinking: what on earth landed Bobby in the hospital? And why would he be calling in such a state? Well, apparently his wife of 38 years stabbed him because she was fed up with him spending all of his time watching the Washington Nationals.

"I was watching the Nats game and she came home from one of the local area bars, Applebee's, intoxicated," Bobby was quoted saying, per the station's website. "And she proceeded to start screaming at me, and then it erupted into me getting stabbed with a butcher knife... Because she said I watch too much Nats. That's all I do is watch baseball."

Before we dive deeper into the story, let's just get one thing out of the way: you can never watch too much baseball.

His wife reportedly stabbed him in the forearm which required 13 (!) stitches to halt the bleeding. In extremely reassuring news, 106.7 The Fan confirms that the couple were already filling out divorce paperwork weeks before the incident.

Unfortunately, Angie Wanner, something tells us that nothing could've helped Bobby here. But we're just relieved that he's on his way out of that toxic relationship.
