Barry Sanders Responds to Garth Brooks Rocking His Jersey and Making Donald Trump Fans Upset

Barry Sanders was a star in the NFL for 10 years, spending his entire Hall of Fame career with the Detroit Lions. He was a Pro Bowl honoree every season of his career, earning six First Team All-Pros. However, many people apparently still do not know who he is, or recognize the swag that features his name.

Garth Brooks, the famous singer/songwriter, rocked a Barry Sanders jersey (whose number was 20) when performing in Michigan. Many MAGA folks on Instagram thought he was supporting Bernie Sanders, attacking Brooks for what they thought was his political leanings. Spoiler alert: nothing had anything to do with either side of the aisle.

Luckily, Sanders himself had a humorous response to all the comments.

What a clever response from the Lions legend. While all these so-called fans on Instagram are showing their true colors, Sanders had a legendary response to the Trump supporters, making a joke about the whole situation without embarrassing them.

However, this didn't stop the rest of the Twitter world from making fun of the strange situation.

Sanders was known throughout his career for his humility, and seems to be continuing it here by making light of this incredibly awkward situation when he could have called out all the commenters on Instagram. Good for Sanders for doing what is right rather than embarrassing the people more than they already did to themselves.
