VIDEO: Pitch Invader Somehow Runs on Field During Barcelona-Mallorca Game With Zero Fans
By Nick Porr

Soccer returned to Spain and Italy this week, with La Liga and Serie A joining the German Bundesliga in continuing their respective seasons in Europe's top leagues. All three have been playing without fans due to restrictions put in place due to the coronavirus pandemic, but somehow, without anyone in the stands, one man managed to find his way all the way on to the pitch during a match between Mallorca and FC Barcelona on Saturday.
How did a fan get on the pitch when there is no fans allowed in the stadium!?!?!? ?? pic.twitter.com/XJwNphshtV

This is absolute insanity. It must have taken a heck of a lot for that guy to get through security and sneak into the stadium, let alone get himself onto a pitch that featured a mid-match Lionel Messi. The players couldn't do anything but chuckle as he was escorted out of the arena.
The stadium may seem packed at a first glance, but it's nothing more than television trickery. La Liga has been filling their broadcasts with fake crowd noise and computer-generated fans to fill the stands and create a better atmosphere for viewers.

Either one of those electronic projections came to life, or La Liga needs to increase the security presence out in the Balearic Islands. It take a certain level of fan dedication to get onto the pitch when no one was even allowed into the stands -- or even into the building at all.
Mallorca gonna Mallorca.
As broadcasts with fake crowd noises and visuals continue to make viewers uncomfortable, at least one thing stays the same: fans will always run onto the field, no matter how many times they're told not to, whenever and wherever the Beautiful Game is played.
