Auburn's Luck in the College Baseball Postseason is Brutally Bad

Baseball can be a very cruel game, and unfortunately, this year's College World Series has one school finding that out the hard way.

Auburn was locked into a tight battle with Mississippi State up 4-3 in the bottom of the ninth with two outs in double-elimination action. A routine ground ball hit to Auburn third baseman Edouard Julien was set to be the final out, but he sailed the ball over his first baseman and allowed the Bulldogs to tie the game.

The error opened up the door for MSU to come back and take the win a 5-4 win in extras. Now, the Tigers are one loss away from being eliminated.

Though the loss was a tough one to swallow for Auburn, it isn't the first time bad luck has struck the Tigers in the NCAA postseason.

In Game 3 of the Super Regionals last year, Auburn took on Florida in what was an incredible game that lasted 11 innings. However, they ended up loosing on a home run that snuck over the wall off of their right fielder's glove, handing the Gators the victory.

It seems like Auburn can't catch a break when it comes to college baseball's postseason, which is just a shame. Hopefully, things will turn around for the Tigers on Tuesday when they face Louisville in an elimination game.
