The Atlanta Falcons are destined for a significant shakeup on defense offseason, as former first-round pick Vic Beasley is among those that the Falcons will not bring back for 2020.

One Falcons fan didn't seem ready to accept that the former Clemson star was actually moving on, however -- but the Falcons confirmed on Twitter that they are undeed parting ways with their famous No. 44 as bluntly as they could possibly manage.

In case @bostonaustin wasn't ready to accept it, Atlanta confirmed their own firsthand story that Beasley's tenure as a Falcon is over

Beasley, picked eighth overall in 2015, led the league in sacks with 15.5 in his second year in the league, but has managed just 18 in the last three seasons combined while earning criticism from Pro Football Focus and Falcons fans alike for his poor run-stopping limitations and general attitude.

When you combine that with the fact that there was a direct correlation between Beasley's regression and the Falcons defense looking increasingly toothless over the last few years, letting him move on as a free agent was an easy call to make.

Beasley has some value as a speed rusher, but Atlanta is clearly not willing to break the bank for an underperforming player that didn't fit Dan Quinn's defense. Just a few years after helping Atlanta make the Super Bowl, most Falcons fans probably aren't sad to see him go.
