Mike Trout returns to the lineup after missing Los Angeles' last four games due to a mild right calf strain. However, he won't be manning center field as per usual. Instead, he will be Los Angeles' designated hitter. Matt Harvey (3-4, 6.88 ERA) will take the mound on Thursday, who is coming off a win in his last start against the Seattle Mariners.

Houston ended Los Angeles' five-game winning streak on Wednesday, winning 11-2. Three of those runs came off a three-run home run by George Springer, who will assume leadoff duties as per usual on Thursday. Wade Miley (7-4, 3.32 ERA) takes the mound in Anaheim, who is coming off a no-decision against the Texas Rangers on July 13.
