On Wednesday, it was announced that Houston Astros shortstop Carlos Correa would be sidelined for 4-6 weeks with a cracked rib, an injury that he apparently sustained after getting some treatment at home.

Now we know exactly what that treatment was after he revealed what happened in a statement.

While getting a massage?! How intense of a massage could it have been? Aren't you supposed to be relaxed and regenerating your muscles and energy with this kind of treatment? Suffering a cracked rib sounds beyond extreme.

Either way, Correa's dream of playing 155-plus games this year is officially in the gutter, as he'll miss at the very least 25 games while he recovers. This injury comes at a rough time for the Astros, as they just received news that Jose Altuve will be shut down with fatigue in his surgically-repaired knee. For now, the speedy Myles Straw will take Correa's roster spot.

The silver lining here is that the Astros will be able to give key depth pieces ample playing time, which could come in handy down the stretch.
