The Houston Astros legacy has been tainted by their sign-stealing scandal in the 2017 season. While many fans are still not over how the Astros (arguably) cheated their way to a World Series win, Spring Training is in full swing and they have to worry about the current performances of their players. These three storylines have gotten lost in all of the commotion.

3. Alex Bregman's First Home Run of the Spring

While the majority of MLB fans are discrediting third baseman Alex Bregman for taking part in sign-stealing, he hit his first home run of Spring on Wednesday. Bregman got a curve-ball at the knees and sent it over the left field wall. The standalone question for the LSU product is if he can offer MVP production after all the commotion and controversy.

2. Forrest Whitley Grapefruit League debut

Forrest Whitley is currently ranked as the No. 16 prospect according to MLB Pipeline's Top 100 prospects. Astros fans finally got to see the 22-year-old wearing the H-Town uniform. In his Grapefruit League debut, Whitley did not impress. He gave up two hits one walk and run in just 1.2 innings of work. It will be interesting to see if Whitley can bounce back from not such an ideal debut.

1. The Emergence of Myles Straw

If there is one player who is making a name for himself on the Astros, it is Myles Straw. Straw is having a great start to the spring as he already has three home runs to his name along with a .667 batting average. While Straw has an incredibly small sample size to his name, he is definitely turning some heads in Florida. If Straw success correlates to the regular season that could fill up a big hole Houston has in right field.
