Astros Having a Ring Ceremony for Winning the American League Amid Fallout of Cheating Scandal is Pathetic

The Houston Astros are a painfully tone-deaf organization. This offseason was filled with embarrassing responses to the sign-stealing scandal as it has become clear that no one on the team really cares about what happened or has any remorse for their despicable actions. They're just annoyed they got caught and want everyone to move on.

But the arrogance isn't done yet! The bizarre year continues as the Astros announced they will hold a ring ceremony for winning the American League in 2019. Really guys?

The Astros never apologized for their actions and continue to live in their own reality. Celebrating an American League pennant (NOT EVEN A CHAMPIONSHIP!) after being accused of cheating for years is a terrible look. The organization just can't help but try to manufacture an "us versus them" storyline when all anyone wants is some accountability for cheating.

Celebrating pennant victories isn't anything out of the ordinary, but the Astros should've maybe sat this one out or made it low key.

But yeah, let's give this team and these shameful players another reason to celebrate after all they've done, especially something as insignificant as winning a pennant amid a cheating scandal. The bright side? This will at least give opposing fans more reason to boo them at every turn.
