After Major League Baseball postponed the start of its regular season due to the coronavirus pandemic that has harmed thousands around the world, Houston Astros catcher Dustin Garneau is trying to keep a positive attitude on social media.

In a tweet Thursday night, Garneau offered his services as a prospective catcher for any beer league teams in need of a temporary replacement behind the plate. If he can't play professionally, he may as well hone his skills elsewhere, even at the most recreational of levels.

The good news for Garneau is that most beer leagues have extremely lax sign stealing rules. Garneau just started with the Astros in November, and since then, baseball and specifically his team have had to deal with no shortage of issues.

Garneau has had a promising spring, hitting .444/.615/.889 across six games, but there's no telling how a delay in the start of the season could affect what happens to his game from here on out.

While the 32-year-old may be keen on joining in for some recreational fun, the Astros are probably hopeful that he keeps himself at minimal risk of contracting the highly contagious virus responsible for the league's postponement.
