A new era begins Saturday at Arsenal Football Club as Mikel Arteta takes the managerial reins. The former Premier League midfielder, who spent the final five years of his professional career in the famous Gunners shirt, will make his debut as gaffer Saturday against another one of his former teams, Everton.

Saturday's game kicks off from Goodison Park in Liverpool at 7:30 a.m. ET and will be televised on NBC Sports Network. Streaming is available on NBC Sports Live and the Reddit Soccer Streams subreddit community.

With just one win in their last 12 (!) games in all competitions, the Gunners are in dire need of course-correction as the annual festive period heats up. Sitting 10th in the Premier League table, they're only in the top half thanks to a goal differential advantage over Newcastle, who likewise sit on 22 points. Everton, meanwhile, are somehow even worse off, sitting just three points above the relegation zone.

The Toffees are expected to introduce a managerial hire of their own in the coming days, none other than Carlo Ancelotti.

It goes without saying that both of those traditional Big Six clubs need to right the ship and get things cooking in the run up to the January transfer window. And to be sure, Arsenal fans would like nothing more than an early Christmas present in the form of a big three points on Arteta's debut.
