The Cuban Missile might be a few megatons more destructive in 2020.

A photo of Yankees closer Aroldis Chapman at the gym emerged on Wednesday thanks to YES Network Digital Media Coordinator A.J. Herrmann, and a Twitter photo reveals a possible doomsday scenario for opposing batters.

Chapman is entering the fourth year of his second stint in the Bronx, and is coming off a season in which he pitched to his lowest ERA and recorded the most saves since returning to New York.

Whether the added bulk will lend itself to an even better performance by the closer in 2020 remains to be seen. Chapman will be 32 on Opening Day.

In some instances, a pitcher will bulk up during the offseason and it will lead to a decline in performances and higher injury risk the next season. Mets starting pitcher Noah Syndergaard fell victim to this in 2017. After a career-best 2016 season, Syndergaard added 17 pounds of muscle to his frame against his organization's wishes. It resulted in a decline in his performance and an eventual season-ending muscle tear.

Still, to suggest the same will happen to Chapman is premature at this stage.

Now Chapman will enter the first year of his new contract with some apparent extra bulk. Yankee fans have every right to be pumped.
