To The Captain Derek Jeter - congratulations on taking your rightful place in the Baseball Hall of Fame where you will be, for eternity, as one of history’s greatest players, at any position, in any era. . It was the rock n jock MTV game (in our teal uniforms) that we shared a cab to the stadium from our hotel and said, man if we can sign a lifetime contract for a million dollars and 5+ years we would do it. I'm glad we did not have a pen or contract. . I was lucky to be by your side on the left side of the infield for so many years. I needed you more than you needed me. You were our #tablesetter on our magical 2009 run and I can’t thank you enough. #RE2PECT . And a special congratulations to Larry Walker on finally getting in where you belong. A ferocious hitter with a super strong arm and amazing athleticism. #Congrats ??

Jeter and Rodriguez played together in the Bronx for 10 seasons, spanning from 2004-2013. That run included a World Series championship in 2009.

In his post, A-Rod recalled the 1997 offseason, when he and Jeter traveled to Los Angeles to partake in the MTV Rock N' Roll Jock Softball Challenge. Devotees will remember Jeter played for the "Homeboys," and Rodriguez for the "Awayboys."

Who could forget this iconic photo?

Those shades. The crazily oversized jerseys. Amazing.

It's evident that A-Rod couldn't be happier for Jeter, and we would expect the Captain to return the favor on social media should his companion be canonized in the future.
