Apparently Alex Cora Didn't Even Need Technology to Steal Signs Which Makes Astros Demise Even Funnier

The MLB hasn't even levied their punishment on Alex Cora for his role in the Houston Astros' damning sign-stealing scandal, but earth-shattering news still made its way to the Northeast this week.

On Tuesday evening, the Red Sox organization released a statement confirming they parted ways with their World Series-winning manager.

What makes the Astros' sheer collapse all the more comical is the sentiment that Cora actually didn't need technology to steal signs from opposing teams. Per insider Bob Nightengale, Cora's former teammates say that he was equally effective doing so with his own eyes.

If that's the case, why were the Astros so hell-bent on deploying cameras in the outfield of Minute Maid Park? That's easy. Because they're frauds.

As if Cora's apparent sign-stealing prowess wasn't enough for them to gain a competitive edge -- and a fair one at that because everybody dabbles in swiping signs these days -- Houston took things a colossal, unforgivable step forward.

Of course, the former skipper formerly served as Houston's bench coach, and reports indicate that he played a significant role in the club's cheating ventures. If Cora was as good with his eyes as his former teammates say he was, we don't even want to think what he could pick up on with technology.

Still, this report further proves the Astros deserve everything that's coming their way.
