The Detroit Pistons are looking to rise up the Eastern Conference standings, but they could be without one of their top players on Thursday night in Mexico City, due to bizarre circumstances.

According to Keith Langlois of Pistons.com, center Andre Drummond is a game-time decision due to an allergic reaction to an avocado left him with eye swelling.

Talk about a weird reason to potentially miss a game.

Drummond showed up to practice on Wednesday wearing sunglasses indoors due to inflammation in his left eye. As it turns out, the symptoms only got worse the next day.

The Pistons can ill afford to be without Drummond, as they face a Dallas Mavericks team that's 16-7 on the season, led by scoring machine Luka Doncic. This season, Drummond is averaging 17.5 points and 16.7 rebounds per game, with the latter leading the entire league.

Did we mention he put up these numbers while on a beer diet? Because that's damn impressive.

With tip-off taking place at 9:00 p.m. ET, an answer regarding Andre Drummond's status will soon be revealed.
