After a 2019 season full of controversy and difficulties, even though the team amassed a 9-7 record and won the NFC East, the Philadelphia Eagles are searching for answers to make sure such struggles are not repeated in the 2020 league year.

Alshon Jeffery, for one, never seemed to find his footing last season despite being called upon as Carson Wentz's No. 1 weapon. The former Chicago Bear signed a lucrative extension during the 2017 season, but hasn't lived up to his price tag. Now there are trade talks surrounding the star wide receiver, and we reportedly know at least one reason why that's the case.

Wentz and Jeffery have never had the strongest chemistry, and there were rumors during last season that the latter was leaking complaints about the stagnant offense to the media. It turns out some of the players believed those rumors, and a report came out this week that at least one 'prominent' offensive player confronted Jeffery about his supposed comments to the media. The fact it escalated to the point the two players had to be separated speaks to potential irreparable differences.

Of course Doug Pederson, being the excellent coach that he is, will do everything he can to maintain the peace inside the locker room. However, it may be inevitable that Jeffery is playing for a different team in the 2020 NFL season.
