The Houston Astros have easily surpassed the New York Yankees as the most hated squad in Major League Baseball in 2020. That's due not only to being proven guilty of illegally stealing signs throughout the 2017 season, but for their lack of remorse for their actions and their downright arrogance towards the criticism. That has led to the team being relentlessly booed by fans and plunked by the opposition...in Spring Training. On Tuesday, former MLB star and current ESPN commentator Alex Rodriguez talked about the Astros backlash by brilliantly comparing it to his massive steroid suspension.

Well said.

Rodriguez was infamously handed a season-long suspension back in 2014 for steroid use, which ultimately cost him $35 million. Once he returned, Rodriguez said that he knew he would face hefty jeers by fans, and decided to show contrition. He went from one of the more reviled figures in baseball, to now becoming one of the more popular individuals in sports media.

That's not what the Astros have done. Instead, they acted like they were only sorry for getting caught, while also clapping back at their MLB colleagues who criticized them, and expressing their belief they won the 2017 World Series fair and square. Oh, and they took joy at the thought of "shutting up" the opposing fan bases when playing on the road.

A-Rod knows the Astros have made their bed with their obstinance. Now, they have to accept the consequences in 2020, which will come in the form of beanballs and boos.
