Alcides Escobar Appears to Take Weird Shot at White Sox Front Office After They Cut Him
By Jerry Trotta

The Chicago White Sox elected to cut ties with former All-Star shortstop Alcides Escobar on Friday, a few months after both parties agreed to a minor league contract late into spring training.
We are unaware of the undisclosed featured appliances of that deal, but when you take a look at Escobar's brazen shot at the organization's front office on Twitter, it would appear as though the White Sox did wrong by the vet infielder.
I asked for my freedom they did not let me free and I did it because they lied to me they are not honest ?

This is all mere speculation but we presume that Escobar's "dishonest" claim relates to Chicago refusing to promote him despite the numbers he put up with Triple-A Charlotte. The 32-year-old was slashing .286/.343/.444 with 10 home runs at the time of his discharge. All told, those are very average statistics for the International League.
Perhaps Alcides could have "@'d" the White Sox organization on Twitter as opposed to the Charlotte Knights, who were professional enough to post a tribute thanking the former ALCS MVP for his services.
Unsurprisingly, the majority of White Sox fans did NOT approve of Escobar's scorn.
Signed you to a MINOR LEAGUE DEAL. They can do whatever they want buddy. pic.twitter.com/RDBgJcaiQ0

Oooof.
Go take a seat. You had a minor league contract and now it’s over.

In truth, the Sox electing not to call-up the former Royals star makes total sense. The franchise, in the midst of a rebuild, is prioritizing youth over offensively-challenged veterans. Not to mention that they have a budding star -- Tim Anderson (who's 26 years old) -- doing a solid job at shortstop already.
Escobar had better hope his petulant actions don't cost him a roster spot on a contender looking to add infield depth ahead of the postseason.
