A stud on Alabama's offense and potential first-round pick in the NFL Draft suffered an injury scare on New Year's Day.

In the third quarter of Wednesday's Citrus Bowl, Crimson Tide receiver Henry Ruggs attempted to make a diving catch against the Michigan Wolverines. Ruggs was shaken up after the play with an apparent injury, and head coach Nick Saban has provided an update after the game.

This season, Ruggs was one of many Crimson Tide wideouts to make a serious impact throughout the season. Through 11 games, Ruggs recorded 38 receptions for 719 yards and seven touchdowns.

Prior to the injury, Ruggs caught two passes for 27 yards.

There was much doubt in regards to the junior receiver's status for the Citrus Bowl. Ruggs is viewed as a first-round prospect in the upcoming NFL Draft, and many thought he'd sit out in order to preserve his body. However, Ruggs said he hasn't made a decision on his future, and decided to give it a go on New Year's Day.

At least there's more clarity on his injury because there was a lot of pessimistic speculation after he left the field.
