Alabama Safety Nigel Knott No Longer on Team Due to Medical Issue
By Mark Powell

While Alabama was able to come away with a lopsided victory over the Duke Blue Devils in Week 1 of the college football season, they'll be dealt a blow in their secondary depth moving forward.
Safety Nigel Knott played 10 games for the Crimson Tide last season, but Nick Saban revealed on Wednesday that he is no longer a member of the program, citing medical issues.

Knott's status had been uncertain for a few months, as Saban couldn't give much of an update on the redshirt junior, who primarily played on special teams in 2018.
“He’s getting rehab and being evaluated. We’re hopeful that he can back on the field sometime soon, but that’s going to be a medical decision," Saban said at the time.
However, whatever Knott's injury is, it appears too serious to consider a return to the gridiron, at least for the time being.

Knott will continue to take classes/attend school at Alabama.
The good news, however, is that Knott will remain in school and finish his degree at Alabama despite his recent ailments. In that path, we wish him nothing but the best moving forward.
