Alabama Creating Their Own Distractions Breaks Nick Saban's Biggest Rule

There is no doubt anymore that Nick Saban is the best coach in college football, if not the best ever. But it's pretty petty of him to make excuses as to why his Alabama team didn't win the national title against the Clemson Tigers last season.

Clemson entered undefeated, and was ultimately better on the night in pretty much every facet of the game. Take the "L" and move on, right?

Well, at SEC Media Days, Saban is still talking about "internal distractions" from last year and how players may have focused too much on their stats instead of the needs of the team.

Of course, Saban was breaking his own biggest rule about creating distractions that become bulletin board material, as he threw assistant coaches from last year under the bus and talked about not being a fan of the transfer portal.

Of course, dogging the transfer policy is rich, as he basically did the same thing and left the Miami Dolphins mid-season to take the Alabama job a little over a decade ago.

Clemson and Alabama are widely predicted to meet once again in the College Football Playoff, if not the national championship game. What will Saban's excuse be then if the Tigers blow them out once again?
