It's award season around baseball, and the latest wave of finalists for pitching's top individual honor have been made public.

The NL Cy Young finalists include the best pitcher on the best team in Washington's Max Scherzer, the ERA leader in Hyun-Jin Ryu, and the strikeout leader in Jacob deGrom.

deGrom put up a 2.43 ERA and struck out 255 batters on a massively disappointing Mets team. Ryu led the NL with a 2.32 ERA on a Dodgers team that dominated for most of the season, while Scherzer posted a 2.92 ERA on a Nationals team that won their first championship.

The AL Cy Young finalists feature two Houston Astros in Gerrit Cole and Justin Verlander, with a former Astro in Tampa Bay's Charlie Morton rounding out the list.

Morton helped push the Rays into the playoffs on the back of a 3.05 ERA and 240 strikeouts. Teammates Verlander and Cole were unhittable for most of the season, with Verlander leading the AL in wins (21) and innings (223) while striking out an even 300 batters. Cole, meanwhile, posted an AL-best 2.50 ERA and 326 strikeouts.

Both winners will be announced on Nov. 13.
