The Cleveland Browns are a franchise surrounded by eternal optimism in any given offseason. The problem has been turning the good vibes into actual success on the field.

Kevin Stefanski is the team's new head coach and he is taking over a team that finished a disappointing 6-10 in 2019. Baker Mayfield showed regression under former head coach Freddie Kitchens and the hope is Stefanski can get the quarterback playing like a No. 1 overall pick once again. While the Browns have been a punchline for a long time, one AFC North coach believes the team is in great shape.

Stefanski helping make Kirk Cousins a Pro Bowler last season is likely a big reason why he was a top choice for the job. The Minnesota Vikings quarterback threw for 3,603 yards and 26 touchdowns en route to his second Pro Bowl. Mayfield tossed for 3,827 yards in one of the more dysfunctional offenses seen in recent NFL history.

All the losing in the past allowed the Browns to take Mayfield with the No. 1 overall pick in 2018. It also led the team to Stefanski after the terrible tenures of Hue Jackson and Kitchens. Now there appears to be some proper talent in the organization and that has opponents wary. However, the optimism will once again have to turn into wins for fans to care at all.
