Thanks to his ridiculous power, Aaron Judge is often perceived to be a one-dimensional threat at the dish. After slugging 52 home runs in his rookie year, it became easy for most fans to write him off as yet another power-hitting product of the New York Yankees.

But he's so much more than that. In fact, he's one of the most complete offensive players in the entire league.

The hulking Bronx Bombers superstar broke down what makes pitchers Justin Verlander and Gerrit Cole so good in high leverage situations and what he expects from them, proving that he's much more than a mindless slugger who only wants to put the ball in the bleachers.

"You see them on the mound," he said in reference to Verlander and Cole. "It's my game plan against you, and that's how we're going to dictate that."

Judge also added that they're "Guys that aren't going to shy away in a 3-2 count, ain't going to shy away with guys on base, or if the moment is two outs, bases loaded, they're going to go out there and attack you."

And he's absolutely right. The two Houston aces are guys who trust their stuff and are willing to ride it straight into the ground. Judge recognizes their approach to the game and adjusts himself as a hitter to put himself in a better position.

That's the mark of a well-developed batter. That type of understanding of the game doesn't come from any ordinary slugger. He's a multi-talented threat who has the intelligence to know how to adjust to the pitcher and the moment, a skill not seen very often in the modern game.

Judge deserves far more credit than he gets for being a truly complete hitter. He knows which adjustments to make and when to make them. He's so much more than a power hitter, and it's time he gets treated as such.
