Despite a series of rainouts this week, New York Yankees shortstop Didi Gregorius is making positive strides forward and should be joining the big club real soon.

Gregorius was bumped up to Triple-A for his rehab assignment earlier in the week, and according to manager Aaron Boone, "there's a real chance" he joins the team in Cleveland to face the Indians next week.

Boone laid out the plan on Saturday for Gregorius' return to pinstripes, and it includes him playing nine innings at shortstop Saturday night in Scranton. Gregorius will then be the designated hitter on Sunday before having a day off on Monday.

Gregorius will then play Tuesday and Wednesday, and if all goes well, he should return and meet the team in Cleveland on Thursday for a weekend series against the Indians.

Even though the Yankees have been playing great baseball without him, adding Gregorius and his thunderous bat to the lineup will be a huge addition.
