5-Star Michigan QB Commit Wants to 'Kill' Ohio State and Says They Lied to Him
By Michael Luciano

It didn't take long for JJ McCarthy to get in on the Ohio State-Michigan rivalry. He's already coming out guns blazing.
McCarthy, a 5-star quarterback who committed to Michigan, "hates" Ohio State after what he claims was outright lying to him during his recruiting process.

"I used to love them, now I want to kill them."

“Coach Day told me he wasn’t going to take a 2021 quarterback until the end of summer,” McCarthy said. “I didn’t get that feeling when I was there. I really didn’t, with all the coaches there and how they interacted with us, I didn’t feel the big family tradition part of it."
If this is true, this is a pretty damning indictment of Day and the Buckeyes' coaching staff. While McCarthy has to wait behind Shea Patterson for at least a year before he sees the field, it's always good to see a Michigan recruit with a seething hatred for the Scarlet and Grey.
For McCarthy, one quote just about sums up his feelings for the folks in Columbus: “I used to love them, now I want to kill them.” Yikes.

Between McCarthy and 2021 Ohio State defensive end Jack Sawyer trading barbs, the Michigan-OSU rivalry is as strong as it ever was.
