After years of dominating the SEC, Alabama's running back room is looking rather weak to start this season following the latest injury bombshell to come out of Tuscaloosa.

Per a report, 5-star running back Trey Sanders suffered a serious foot injury on the final play of practice Thursday night and is expected to miss the entire 2019 season.

Sanders, who chose Alabama over Florida, Florida State, Texas, and Georgia, figured to work in tandem with Najee Harris and get a significant chunk of carries this season. However, his injury and the departures of Josh Jacobs and Damien Harris to the NFL has left Najee as the lone bell cow this season.

Nick Saban and the Tide are going to miss out on a year of one of the most talented freshman in the country. At 215 pounds and already possessing 4.5 speed, Sanders is as complete a back as there was in the 2019 class.

Sanders will now have to wait until 2020 to see the field in Tuscaloosa.
