Kyle Shanahan and John Lynch hit a home run early in the 2020 NFL Draft when they picked South Carolina defensive tackle Javon Kinlaw 14th overall, but they made a really questionable decision when they traded three draft picks to move up later in the first round.

The 49ers traded picks No. 31, 117, and 176 to move up six spots in the 2020 NFL Draft to select Arizona State receiver Brandon Aiyuk 25th overall.

Aiyuk is not a guy who will run a wide variety of routes, but he is elite with the ball in his hands, and that playmaking ability on shorter routes should be a major boon for a Kyle Shanahan offense that made a star out of Deebo Samuel during is rookie year.

Aiyuk has a LOT to live up to, however, given the price tag placed on him.

The 49ers are almost done drafting now, after they traded most of their mid-round picks to Minnesota in order to select Aiyuk, but they did add an explosive receiver that should be a major part of the San Francisco offense in Year 1.
