The San Francisco 49ers might have lost to the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LIV, but the fantastic performances their defense strung together throughout the year were still recognized by just about every football fan across the nation.

Kwon Alexander and the linebacking corps were big reasons as to why Robert Saleh's unit hit so many teams in the mouth. Perfectly embodying the toughness Saleh wants of his players, Alexander returned from a serious pec injury in time to take part in the Niners' Super Bowl run.

Well, that's not the only injury Alexander was combatting during the playoffs. According to reports, the linebacker underwent surgery to repair a biceps injury on Friday, one which impacted him during the postseason.

Alexander remarkably played in all three playoff games, seeing the field for around 40% of defensive snaps during that stretch. He played on 27% of the team's defensive snaps in the Super Bowl, recording a tackle and batting down a pass.

While he was known to be at less than 100% for the playoffs, the severity of his injuries wasn't made public until after the fact.

From this point forward, no one is allowed to deny Alexander is one of the grittiest dudes in the game, or assume that he doesn't care about winning.
