The 2015 World Series is one of the most underrated World Series ever. In three of the Kansas City Royals' four wins, they were behind in the eighth inning or later. The 2015 Royals were perhaps the greatest comeback team in postseason history, and the Mets were the unfortunate (incredibly strong!) team standing in their way of ultimate dominance.

To relive the glory days of the Royals' first World Series since 1985, here are the four best moments from their historic postseason run.

4. WS Game 1 Alcides Escobar Inside-the-Parker vs. Mets

Thanks to a miscue by New York Mets' centerfielder Yoenis Cespedes, shortstop Alcides Escobar took Matt Harvey's first pitch of the game to left-center field and didn't stop running until he hit the Royals dugout again. It only took one pitch for the Royals to take a 1-0 lead in Game 1 of the World Series. If Cespedes catches that ball, the entire series might be different.

3. Hosmer's Dash Home vs. Mets in WS Game 5

Thanks not only to an errant throw from Lucas Duda, but fantastic baserunning from Eric Hosmer, the Royals clawed back from a 2-0, ninth-inning deficit in Game 5 of the World Series to tie the contest. On a ground ball to third, Hosmer waited at third base until David Wright threw the ball to first, and then started a mad dash home. The Mets couldn't convert the double play, negating a legendary eight-plus-inning performance from Harvey, and the game eventually saw extra innings. One Christian Colon RBI single a few innings later opened the floodgates to a title.

2. ALDS Game 4 Comeback vs. Astros

In one of the craziest comebacks in recent memory, the Royals saw themselves down 6-2 in the eighth inning of Game 4 of the ALDS to the Houston Astros. The tying runs eventually scored thanks to a critical Carlos Correa error, and an RBI groundout saw the Royals take a lead they wouldn't let go of -- the young Astros just weren't ready yet. The Royals extended the series and brought it back to Kauffman Stadium, allowing them to win the series at home.

1. WS Game 5 12th Inning vs. Mets

After Hosmer's mad dash, it took until the 12th inning to see any offense. Once the Royals found their footing again, they exploded for five runs. It was all jump started by pinch-hitter Christian Colon, who had a one-out RBI single off the usually-reliable Addison Reed. From there, the Royals scored four more times and called on Wade Davis to close out the game in the bottom of the inning to bring KC their first World Series triumph since 1985.
