3 Young Quarterbacks Who May Not Re-Sign Big Deals With Their Current Team

1. Marcus Mariota

After an impressive first two NFL seasons, Mariota's passing numbers were pedestrian over the next two. Since the start of 2017, he's thrown for 24 touchdowns and 23 interceptions, and he hasn't supplemented that with gaudy yardage numbers. He's yet to live up to the billing of a No. 2 overall pick, has dealt with injuries in every season, and is heading into a contract year. It's now or never for Mariota, and his future with the Titans is as cloudy as ever.

2. Jared Goff

Goff has had a lot of success under the tutelage of Sean McVay throughout the past two seasons, but the playoffs revealed some cracks in his armor. Many believe his accuracy issues limit his ceiling as an NFL quarterback. McVay inherited Goff when he was hired by the Rams, and he may want to bring in his own guy when Goff's contract expires. It still remains to be seen, but perhaps the former Cal product's playing days are numbered in LA.

3. Carson Wentz

Wentz set the sports world on fire during his second NFL season, but then he went down with a torn ACL. He played well again in 2018, but picked up an injury which resulted in him riding the pine for the playoffs. Questions have since risen about his fit in Philly's offense, despite the team parting ways with Nick Foles this offseason. Wentz's injury history may give Philadelphia cold feet when it comes time to re-up. He will command a monster deal, but it remains to be seen if the Eagles will be willing to pay it.
