3 Teams That Should Sign Colin Kaepernick Right Now

Colin Kaepernick was coming off one of the best statistical seasons of his career, but his political views made him radioactive in the eyes of the NFL, who has effectively blackballed the former NFC champion. At age 32, Kaepernick is by no means too old to make a comeback, as his arm strength and mobility are still as sharp as ever. These three teams should consider throwing him a bone and offering him a chance to be a backup.

3. Baltimore Ravens

Kaepernick has already had success under one Harbaugh brother in Jim, so why wouldn't he look to link up with John as he tries to get back in the NFL? Kaepernick wouldn't need to learn a new playbook, as Greg Roman, Kaepernick's offensive coordinator when he went to the Super Bowl, is now the OC in Baltimore. Just in case something happens to Lamar Jackson, the Ravens could rely on Kaepernick's arm and his legs to make plays in his absence.

2. Carolina Panthers

Given how the Panthers signed safety Eric Reid, arguably the second most passionate NFL player when it came to protesting during the national anthem, that organization has clearly shown they are willing to take on players with those political views. From a football standpoint, Kaepernick would be a solid backup behind Teddy Bridgewater in Joe Brady's offense given his ability to make plays on the move.

1. Minnesota Vikings

The Vikings currently lack a quality backup behind Kirk Cousins, as Sean Mannion is the definition of uninspiring and Nate Stanley is about as mobile as a tree. Kaepernick not only surpasses them in terms of mobility and arm talent, but his pedigree should make Mike Zimmer more confident should Cousins go down due to injury.
